A Visit From Author/Illustrator Jeff Mack!

We had an incredible Tuesday this week welcoming author and illustrator Jeff Mack!

 

Jeff, a prolific creator of children’s books, has written and/or illustrated more than 40 picture books, chapter books, and early readers—including favorites like Good News, Bad News, Hush Little Polar Bear, Duck in the Fridge, and the Clueless McGee series.

 

Students were fully engaged from start to finish during his interactive and energetic presentation. Jeff shared his creative process, inspired our young readers and writers, and brought his stories to life in such a fun and memorable way.

Our 4th and 5th graders even had the opportunity to participate in a second session—a special writer’s workshop where they could dive deeper into storytelling and creativity!

 

To keep the inspiration going, the RFA was able to purchase blank books so students can begin creating stories of their own.

 

It was truly a day filled with imagination, learning, and excitement—we are so grateful to Jeff Mack for visiting our school and sparking creativity in our students!

Rockland Family Association

The Rockland Family Association (RFA) is an organization that provides experiences to help enrich our students' education at Rockland Elementary School. All families attending District 70 schools are automatically members of the RFA. The RFA is governed by a set of by-laws and run by an elected executive board.

Join us for our next General Meeting on Monday, May 11th at 7PM in the Rockland Learning Center. If you can't join us in person, you can feel free to join virtually via Google Meet! All are welcome!

Per D70 administration, all Family Associations of D70 are transitioning to Membership Toolkit.  Please be patient with us as we navigate this new website. We’re still getting everything up and running, and we appreciate your understanding!
